CLOCKSS is a dark archive that preserves electronic content from participating publishers. CLOCKSS ingests content both by harvesting it from publisher websites, and by receiving files of e-content directly from publishers. If a publisher discontinues a title and the title is unavailable from any other source, the CLOCKSS Board can declare a trigger event, and make the title available to the community as open access. Triggered titles are available on the CLOCKSS website.
Transparency is an essential part of digital preservation. To ensure that information about preserved content is widely available, CLOCKSS makes a list of publishers, titles, and preservation years/volumes that are preserved by CLOCKSS available in the industry standard KBART format. This report provides a clear picture of the state of CLOCKSS preservation when the report was created.
